The intravenous (peripheral) catheter Polyflon is a medical device designed for long-term administration of drugs into peripheral veins (up to 5 days) or removal of fluid, solutions of drugs from the human circulatory system using a catheter inserted into a blood vessel (the patient's peripheral veins) in order to reduce trauma to the vein using a hollow needle (introducer). The needle is removed immediately after the catheter is inserted into the vein.
